Purley welcomed a visit from Kemi Badenoch on Tuesday 10th March 2026. Kemi visited various businesses in Purley to discuss a campaign against anti-social behaviour. Kemi, joined by Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp MP and Mayor Jason Perry, also spoke with the Safer Neighbourhood Team about shoplifting in the area.
Purley Library is now open five days a week, including Saturdays. It features a colourful children’s space, a computer area and a large enclosed quiet zone – perfect for research and study. The library is located at Banstead Road, Purley, CR8 3YH. Current opening hours: Saturday: 9am to 5pm Monday: Closed Tuesday: 10am to 6pm
