We are proud to welcome a fantastic Turner painting to the Rotary Field, Purley, which was chosen to reflect the rich railway history in the area.
Built in 1803 The Surrey Iron Railway was the first public railway line in the world and ran through the Rotary Field. Originally used to transport goods on iron rails, the public would use their own horses and wagons on payment of a fee.
A fantastic opportunity to see Joseph Mallard William Turner’s painting – “Rain, Steam and Speed – The Great Western Railway”.
Pop down to Purley to have a look. 👀💚
