Purley BID is pleased to be taking over the maintenance of the Rotary Clock on Purley Road, in the heart of town. The clock has been a feature in Purley for over 50 years.
Simon Brew, Secretary of the now dissolved Purley Rotary, and long-term member Quentin Taylor, met us under the clock to officially hand over responsibility for the much loved landmark, that Purley Rotary commissioned for Purley.
The clock has been completely refurbished and the mechanism changed to radio-controlled to help keep the time accurate and easier to amend when the hours go forward and back for Daylight Saving Time (DST).
We are delighted to be helping to keep Purley punctual!
