Purley’s Hanging Baskets and Flower Towers: A Community Effort

The hanging baskets and flower towers in Purley is an initiative supported by the Purley Business Improvement District and is something we update twice a year to coincide with the seasons and add some natural elements to our streets.

Why We Do This

The idea behind the hanging baskets and flower towers is to make our town look better and feel more welcoming. These plants add some colour and life to the environment. This effort is made possible through the BID levy funded by our local businesses.

What Happens Each Year

Every spring and autumn, we update these baskets and towers to suit the season. In spring, we opt for flowers like petunias and geraniums, and in autumn, we switch to plants that can handle the colder weather, such as pansies and ivy. The flower towers, which you can see at several points around town, follow the same principle but on a larger scale.

The Role of Our Community

This project reflects our collective effort. It’s a small but meaningful way for businesses to contribute to our local area’s overall look and feel. We thank every business that has contributed to the BID levy. Your support makes initiatives like this possible.

The hanging baskets and flower towers are a part of our effort to make Purley a nicer place to be. This project is one of the many ways we’re working towards a better Purley for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

Let’s continue to work together to keep our town welcoming and presentable. Every little bit helps, and together, we can make a real difference.
