Godstone Road closure – Loss of Profit Recovery

Dear Purley BID Member,

Purley BID have been in discussions with Steve Smith of Quantum UK Associates Ltd ( www.quantumassociates.co.uk ) with regards to the recovery of the loss of profits of the businesses over the forthcoming Godstone Road Closure.

They mention that these claims are in an individual basis, rather than a class action, so you will have to contact them individually. Quantum Associates have successfully supported members of Streatham BID in a similar case.

Below is a statement they have prepared for us to share with Purley BID members:

Retailers who experience a decline in trade due to the upcoming road works are entitled to seek compensation directly from SES Water for their losses.

Naturally, SES Water will aim to limit its liability and minimise potential pay-outs.

By representing the claimants, we will maximise their losses and negotiate robustly to secure the highest possible settlement on their behalf.

To proceed with the claim, certain minimum data provision requirements must be met. These include: –

Sales records on a weekly or monthly basis, covering the period January 2022 – September 2023 (the duration of the road works)

Copies of any relevant VAT return submissions (as applicable)

Copy of most recently submitted year-end accounts

If a business is less than 2 years old, they can still make a claim. In such cases, please provide sales records from the start of the business. 

Our fee in equivalent to 10% of any full and final settlement recovered, and it is only payable once you have received the funds in full from SES Water. There are no additional charges for our service.
