Successful Purley BID Litter Pick

After having to be postponed and then with numbers being restricted due to the COVID-19 Step rules regarding only meeting in groups of 6, the Purley BID Litter Pick still produced amazing results.

Managing to adhere to the rules, the amazing members of the community and also Purley Rotary that joined the litter pick covered a vast amount of known hotspots in Purley, producing many bags of rubbish. Catherine Garrad, Engagement Manager at the BID, said “It always amazes me just how much litter you can collect in a small area. We are very grateful to the people that joined us. It makes such a difference in the town. It is a lovely way to give something back, keep fit and make a real difference”.

Purley Rotary and local residents also regularly litter pick in and around Purley. The Rotary Field has been transformed after the Rotary team commenced regular litter picks in the green space. They enjoy keeping the area clean and tidy whilst keeping fit as part of their daily exercise. We are very grateful to them for their dedication to Purley.

The next Purley BID Community Keep Britain Tidy Litter Pick is on Saturday 12th June 2021, from 10am-12pm. This is to coincide with the national Keep Britain Tidy Campaign. Come along and join in. All equipment provided. See details on Events page and on our socials.
