Hanging flower baskets change the face of Purley Town Centre!

High quality, eye catching floral combinations have been installed along the High Street and Brighton Road to enhance the look and feel of the town centre, thanks to Purley Business Improvement District business members. 38 hanging flower baskets have been installed for passers by to enjoy with 27 to be deployed soon.

CEO of Purley BID, Simon Cripps  explained: ‘We hope Purley will get noticed more when you drive through the town and will encourage commuters to stop and explore the town centre, (which) is home to over 180 great businesses and has a real character about it. We are delighted to be able to add some colour and warmth to the town’.

Marketing Manager, Yuliana Topazly said: ‘Research shows that flower baskets add a great value to town centres, in fact reduce anti-social behaviour and increase community engagement. We are very keen to work with the community and make Purley a better place to live, work and shop. We love the new Purley look and hope everyone who lives or visits Purley will enjoy the great colourful displays’.

Other projects Purley BID is currently involved in include the Annual Food & Drink Festival (held earlier this month), the investment in deep cleaning, dealing with fly-tipping, lobbying towards improving parking across Purley Town Centre, lobbying against the crippling rise in local business rates for local businesses, installing new festive lights during Christmas and much more.
