8,000 People enjoy the ‘Purley Festival’ last weekend:

MORE than 8,000 music lovers flocked to ‘Purley Festival’ last weekend to enjoy two days of predominately sunny weather and enjoy the Celebrations.

This was the fifth annual, community volunteer-run festival featuring a silent disco, 40’s themed cocktail garden, kids areas, circus entertainers and much much more.

The main stage was headlined by jazz-funk with the 80’s chart sensations Shakatak on Saturday night and local soul superstar Omar on Sunday, very enjoyable for all music lovers.

Fiona Lipscombe, the wonderful ‘Purley Festival Director’ said: “Five years ago I could never have imagined that Purley Festival would become such a big and great event and it really is getting better every year’.

“That’s down to all the amazing team members and the positivity and support from local people, organisations and businesses who all came together throughout the week to celebrate our community.”
